Hi all,

I hope that someone can give me some advice about doing business in Thailand, I've read a couple of books on the subject and have consulted a Thai lawyer but I'm currently in the UK.

I understand that to form a Thai Limited Company I need 7 shareholders, 2m baht investment etc.

My questions are

1. If I do not want to actually work for the company but plan on being a director with no work permit,

a sleeping partner so to speak what are the legal implications regarding tax, paying myself a salary etc.

2. Assuming that I am drawing a salary from this business and my wife will be managing the business - what is the best visa to apply for.

3. If I apply for a one year marriage visa can the income from the business be taken into account towards the 400,000 requirement. Secondly as my wife will be the second largest shareholder in this business will it invalidate my reason for getting the marriage visa eg supporting my family.

I hope the questions make sense and look forward to hearing your replies.
