Thats great - thanks.

It makes sense because my thai ex-girlfriend recently left me for a new guy. :D

Same same but different.

ตอนนี้ คุณ น่าตา เป็น อย่าง ไร บ้าง

How do you look right now?

I have a question for the OP and other Thai language learners.

For the first sentence my first thought was that น่าตา was what the OP was called. In which case the OP is called something like Nata (น่าตา). The accompanying sentence would then be: Nata, how are you doing right now? Pearson, is Nata what you are called?

If not, then I know น่าตา/หน้าตา to mean appearance, looks, like the way nidge translated it. However, that sentence doesn't seem to fit the context. It seems more like the question for asking how attractive someone is but that kind of question wouldn't be used with "now" and probably not with "you," and not in the context of the rest of the note. Or, is this sentence really used in the sense nidge translated it, that of a transitive "look" as in "he doesn't look so good." In which case one might ask, "How do you look right now." Any thoughts?

I thought exactly as you but because ตา is a noun น่าตา means eye-able and since you can twist that round to an adverb in English and several people had read it as น่าดู I thought I should not speak. It is just as likely that it is หน้าตา mis-spelt, which means that the writer probably didn't mean หน้าตา as in fame 'fame' which I can see being use in English: 'how is your fame?', 'how popular are you?', 'do you have a new girl?', etc. but that is probably a step too far for Thai.

หน้าตา = physical appearance.

As for the structure, it uses a type of topic fronting/topicalisation (topic = the main matter being talked about). Topic fronting means the word order looks irregular if you try to analyze according to the standard structure.

In English you can say both 'I don't know this' and 'This, I don't know'. The latter sentence is an example of topic fronting, in the same way as the relation between หน้าตาคุณเป็นยังไง and คุณ หน้าตาเป็นยังไง
