I know that it's very difficult, or almost impossible to find work in Thailand as a German citizen and not English Native Speaker :-). I'd like to work in Thailand but can only apply as a Webdesigner, Graphicdesigner, Event Manager, Bar- and Clubmanager. Is there any possibility to find a job in these fields ?? Speak German, English, French but not Thai..... :o Would be glad to get any information or ideas.

Go there, stay there for a while, enjoy your time and make some contacts.Live of your your savings, do some freelance work in the IT Field.Apply first for a 60+30 visa in your country of residence and then do visa runs. While staying in Thailand there will be slightly a better chance of getting a job.

You can´t make a proper living of 25000 baht without savings otherwise you´ll soon get stucked.Don´t waste your money as a non-native speaker doing a TEFL course to teach, as you still won´t qualify for many positions.

Board-language is english, in english you will get more support from other members.

The success rate surely depends on your qualifications. There are heaps of foreigners who'd love to make a living here in LOS but most jobs offered are for Thai nationals only because many employers do not want to go through the hassle of applying for a work permit. If they actually do they obviously want to bring in an "expert" being the ideal choice for a certain position.

Best would certainly be to look for a job opening requiring knowledge of the German language and you may even want to take into consideration to teach German. For example I know of a German guy who came here and eventually got hired to teach the language but at least he had an university degree in Germanistic and on top a practical background and working career in marketing.

Anyway, you may to want to give it a shot at Goethe Institute or alternatively post your profile on the website of The German Thai Chamber of Commerce (www.gtcc.org).

Personal number one recommendation to anyone interested living and working in Thailand: "Learn the Thai language instead of beliving that English may do the job because it actually ain't".

Lots of luck (viel Glueck) and

best regards,

Richard
