whats up with that??? in my opinion, that stuff will kill a human being.

as with knives, swords, nightsticks, some ninja stuff... what is going on? :D:D:D:D:):D

do actually thais carry those stuff around...? recently a 40ish dude came to the tourist police station needing some compensation/lawyer help after his stomach got slashed.

these days i fear for my own safety. not only in thailand, but as in general. alot of local thais seems to carry guns aswell.

i also heard that some carry things like sulfuric acid in a container. it seems to be common in the uk and commonly used in middle eastern countries.

yes it is kind of hardish topic, but i would like to know more to it...

i think in 2008, some kids were spraying water guns containing acid during songkran in bkk

stun guns don't really work so well. As for the other items - well think people buy them for mostly show. I bought a collapsible night stick, other than that knives, stars are well not worth carrying.

Years ago I saw stun guns for sale in the sports section of Central department store, along with ninja stars and those 7" martial art knifes.

Gravion, where have you been hearing about people carrying around canisters of sulphuric acid? Maybe a sicko might but I can't imagine your normal Thai citizen would have a need for that. Anybody know about this?

Those stun guns are not very effective like the ones in the states. I once watched a guy shock himself with the stun guns being offered at Klong Tom (to the dismay and disapointment of the seller)

Any how, the stun gun was not very effective, it seemed to stun the guy just about as bad a a 9volt battery would do, and that was the point of why the guy shocked himself with it. He was telling some prospective buyers not to expect much out of the Stun guns found here. He said it would mostly just get someone even more angry. Which I would have to agree with.

The telescoping saps look pretty effective though...

Carrying containers of sulfuric around? A small leak may teach a valuable lesson.

I've been hearing about acid in the Songkran splashing for years, but never heard a first- (or second-) hand report on this.

I think gravion needs to take a rain check and chill. The way he's describing this place i'd sooner fancy my chances in Iraq. :)
