Visa Run From Krabi

Featured Replies

Does anyone happen to know what options there are

for a quick visa run if you are already staying in

Krabi ? Are there any alternative nearby destinations

in Malaysia for example which can be reached

by road or rail starting from Krabi ?

hello,

i lived in krabi for six months, and made this trip several times.

what i always did was catch a minivan from town, around 150 baht one way. this will take you to hatyai. then you catch another minvan (40baht) to the border. then get on a motorbike at the border (40 baht) and he will take you through the gates to get your passport stamped, and then return you to the minivan station in town. then the minivan (40 baht) back to hatyai. if you leave on the first minivan in the morning from krabi, you can get your passport stamped and have 3 hours or so to look around hat yai, and catch the 5 o clock or so minivan back to krabi.

make sure and have a hatyai map, because finding the minivan shops can be kinda tricky, i know of only one in hat yai that goes to the border, its just down the street from the capitol guesthouse.

taking the government bus from krabi isn't a very good idea, the timing is off and the bus station is a ways out of the city center(in hat yai)

oh, and if you want to take the train, you must go to trang.
