narkeddiver
Hi, In the UK if I had a medical problem I'd go to my local GP for an initial diagnosis and a referal to a specialist if required ( and probably an 18 month wait - good old NHS ) Does it work the same in Cgiang Mai - is there the equivalent of a GP? It seems to me that if I know which type of specialist I need I can go straight to the required specialist at a hospital but at the moment I don't know where to go for an initial diagnosis Any recommendations? Thanks in advance

Artamus
To the original poster. It would be beneficial to change the title of this topic from Gps to GPs or similar. Most reading this topic will assume you are looking for global positioning systems. None UK people will probably also not be familiar with GP refering to a medical doctor. Donnyboy
waay off topic, but the title of car racing reminded me, did anyone see a dark grey Lamborghini with red plates cruising CM last night? Looked very nice but out of place chugging down Loy Khroy, price would have been about 25M baht landed in LOS

millwall_fan
Dr Tawatchai's clinic on Loi Kroh Rd is the best GP type sugery I know of in town- and he doesn't have dual pricing for foreigners which is a bonus!
anonymouse
The Thai's that I know [so this is just my opinion ] tend to go to the hospital pretty much for anything we would go to a GP for. In the UK if you went to the hospital with food posioning they'd curse you for wasting there time In Thailand you get a private room and an IV drip for a thousand baht a night

It's a pity that you don't seem to be able to make an appointment because the waiting room is always full to overflowing "which I guess is testament to his popularity"
