Thanks for your suggestions, but I am willing to spend "a bit more" for:

freshly baked bread selection

imported ham & cheeses

a nice egg station

etc.

JW Marriott (and I imagine the other 5star hotels) have spreads that will meet your criteria.

... Sheraton Royal Orchid on the Chao Praya IMHO had the best buffets of all the hotels in that vicinity (when I lived in Klong San 3+ years ago) ...

Raddison has a fairly good spread for round 500baht and for an extra couple of thousand throw a room in too.

Very cheap at the moment.

Do you really mean THREE THOUSAND baht for one person's breakfast bill??? :)

Gerd, what's your ballpark budget, per person, for the breakfast of your dreams???

3000Baht

Thanks, I will try them!
Not 5* hotels, but you should give them a try:

Minibar Royale

Crepes & co

In my opinion, the breakfast buffet at Minibar is very limited (caters to the ajoining hotel guests); however, their Brunch selection from a menu is very tasty, but begins at 10:30AM.

I haven't tried the Minibar place as yet, though it's located not that far from my home...

I looked at their breakfast menu and web site.... Although indeed limited in scope, finding decent pancakes, waffles or french toast hereabouts can be a pretty challenging and frustrating task...

So if anyone's tried those offerings from Minibar, please do chime in with a review. I'd love to hear if they are any good....

PS - What hotel is that restaurant attached to???

I know that won't help Gerd and his 3000 baht budget for caviar and champagne... But for the rest of us, it might be useful... :)

PS - On the recommendation of a friend, I tried the breakfast at Gulliver's on Suk Soi 5 a while back, and contrary to his view, I thought it was pretty meager and disappointing.

On the flip side, I also tried the breakfast choices at the Robin Hood Pub on Suk Soi 33-1, and they were much better. Had a perfectly fine orders of both their french toast and pancakes....

For an old fashioned fry-up, The Dubliner is a fair old spread...I couldn't finish it :):D

But maybe not the OP's style :D

#1 for me is at the LeBua Hotel at State Tower (Gold Dome) 1055 Silom Road, Bangrak, Bangkok. Buffet style and completely over the top! :D

Yeah, Lebua is nice :D

But not OTT...no Champagne or smoked salmon :D:)
