March 18, 201016 yr ... Sheraton Royal Orchid on the Chao Praya IMHO had the best buffets of all the hotels in that vicinity (when I lived in Klong San 3+ years ago) ...
March 18, 201016 yr If in Town, Plaza Athene in Wireless Road - I forget the price but a huge selection. Nearer my home a favourite is the Novotel Bangna - Baht 540.- . Patrick
March 19, 201016 yr Just for conversation purposes, where can you find a good breakfast spread for about 500 baht?
March 20, 201016 yr Thanks, I will try them! Not 5* hotels, but you should give them a try:Minibar Royale Crepes & co
March 21, 201016 yr Gerd, what's your ballpark budget, per person, for the breakfast of your dreams???
March 21, 201016 yr Raddison has a fairly good spread for round 500baht and for an extra couple of thousand throw a room in too. Very cheap at the moment.
March 22, 201016 yr Author Gerd, what's your ballpark budget, per person, for the breakfast of your dreams??? 3000Baht
March 22, 201016 yr Do you really mean THREE THOUSAND baht for one person's breakfast bill??? Gerd, what's your ballpark budget, per person, for the breakfast of your dreams??? 3000Baht
March 22, 201016 yr Author Do you really mean THREE THOUSAND baht for one person's breakfast bill??? Gerd, what's your ballpark budget, per person, for the breakfast of your dreams??? 3000Baht Yes! But I am expecting some champagne, smoked eel, salmon, caviar
March 23, 201016 yr Then, the Four Seasons Sunday brunch is for you! At 2,350 baht/pers. with free flow of Champagne: it's a deal... but book early in advance And here is a review...
March 23, 201016 yr Thanks, I will try them! Not 5* hotels, but you should give them a try:Minibar Royale Crepes & co In my opinion, the breakfast buffet at Minibar is very limited (caters to the ajoining hotel guests); however, their Brunch selection from a menu is very tasty, but begins at 10:30AM.
March 23, 201016 yr I haven't tried the Minibar place as yet, though it's located not that far from my home... I looked at their breakfast menu and web site.... Although indeed limited in scope, finding decent pancakes, waffles or french toast hereabouts can be a pretty challenging and frustrating task... So if anyone's tried those offerings from Minibar, please do chime in with a review. I'd love to hear if they are any good.... PS - What hotel is that restaurant attached to??? I know that won't help Gerd and his 3000 baht budget for caviar and champagne... But for the rest of us, it might be useful... PS - On the recommendation of a friend, I tried the breakfast at Gulliver's on Suk Soi 5 a while back, and contrary to his view, I thought it was pretty meager and disappointing. On the flip side, I also tried the breakfast choices at the Robin Hood Pub on Suk Soi 33-1, and they were much better. Had a perfectly fine orders of both their french toast and pancakes....
April 6, 201016 yr Then, the Four Seasons Sunday brunch is for you!At 2,350 baht/pers. with free flow of Champagne: it's a deal... but book early in advance I wonder if they're on "sale" now, with the red-shirt protest.
April 7, 201016 yr On the flip side, I also tried the breakfast choices at the Robin Hood Pub on Suk Soi 33-1, and they were much better. Had a perfectly fine orders of both their french toast and pancakes.... For an old fashioned fry-up, The Dubliner is a fair old spread...I couldn't finish it But maybe not the OP's style RAZZ
