Firefox In Thai

Featured Replies

I’ve twice downloaded the 'English' version of Firefox and both times it displays the Thai language.

Why is that and how can I change it to English language only?

For the moment i've uninstalled Firefox until i have an answer how to run it in English and not Thai.

Have you tried working through the info on this page? http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Firefox-Thai-t351842.html

And I don't know if it makes a difference, but if you're on a

Mac, the latest release 3.6.2 is out.

Hi i had same problem with firefox and some programs i bought in thai.I went to control panel, languages and region and click on change display language or change keyboard languge, then click on adminstrative and if system locale is thailand change to english or american english ,restart computer and it should download in english. You do not have to change the locale back to thai bit if you do not some thai websites will not display the thai language as they do not use unicode.

www.filehippo.com will give you the english version, mozilla sees you are in Thailand and by default gives you the Thai Language download

Or click the 'Other Systems and Languages' link below the download button on the official mozilla page which will lead you to this page:

Direct Download:

Just checked this out and the language is set for English (United States) and the keyboard is set to US.

From what's been suggested I think the answer might be that the download source picks up that my internet provider is Thai so gives me the Thai version.

As suggested I downloaded Firefox from this site and once again it's in Thai.

you have to make changes in your system settings. Language etc..

Clear browser history and try that one first.

I think i've sorted the problem out by importing my start page from internet explorer which was yahoo and that seems to have done the trick.

Thank's for help and suggestions.

A big thanks to everyone for their input but i'm now up and running with Firefox.

I downloaded Firefox from: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html and downloaded the English version.

I then imported my home page from internet explorer which was Yahoo and its all working fine at the moment with no Thai language.

I'm not sure but i think the Google search function was creating the Thai language problem.

Whatever!!

It's sorted!!

For those of us who want to switch the user interface language of Firefox between 2 or more languages (e.g. for you and your Misses), there is a really nice plugin called 'Quick Locale Switcher'

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1333

This allows you to quickly change the language in Firefox (both user interface and browser locale) from the tools menu, the statusbar, or your Toolbar.

Important: this plugin does not automatically install the UI language packs, just choose the desired language(s) from this page:

ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/fir....6.2/win32/xpi/

Direct link for Thai

Changing the language will trigger a Firefox restart and all currently opened web pages will be reloaded. All standard Firefox menus will then appear in the selected language.

More experienced users can assign a language to a Firefox profile, explained here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Language_packs
