How To Install An Additional Dictionary?

Featured Replies

I use Office 2003 and have the standard English dictionary installed. Since OE6 (Outlook Express 6) shares this one and I now have to frequently send e-mails in German I would like to add a German dictionary to it.

Questions:

1. where can I find a compatible German dictionary?

2. how do I install it?

3. Will I have the option to select required dictionary in OE6 once I've installed it?

Thanks for the link H2oDunc. It shows me how to add a dictionary but I still can't find where I can download a compatible German dictionary.

Any idea?

Doesn't that come already with the installation? I know in OpenOffice you add language dictionaries but in MS Office you can select or deselct when you install different proofing languages. Just go to your 'tools' where your spell checker is and then go 'select language'. Select German as your language and that should be it afaik (at least it is on my MS Office here).

Hi K. Opalhort

There is an excellent dictionary (many languages) <www.leo.org> freely available.

Have a try and good luck.

Thanks for the links posttenebraslux and Beggar,

These are very helpful links but I just need a simple spell checker for my OE6.

I do speak German and don't need translation but my German is so rusty that I make many spelling mistakes when writing an e-mail in German.
