sk1max
I'm planning a cycling trip that includes route 109, just wondering about the condition of the road and hills etc. Any info. would be a great help.
sundaypsychos
I regularily take that route on (motor) bike so my observations may not be as sensitive as yours. but in rough terms the western end is flat-ish with a road surface that has patches of sand and grit as it gets closer to the hills. then there is a middle section that is all bends and a pretty good road surface. hilly but not as steep as doi sutthep at any point IMO. then at the eastern edge it flattens out again and runs straight all the way into mae suai. a severe lack of shops on the road would constitute you bringing enough water beforehand and some snacks i would have thought. davidgtr
This should be a help Route 107 & Fang is at the left (west) end & Mae Suai is at the right (east) end. Take a GT Rider Golden Loop map with you too as it has accurate kms for riding in that area.
getgoin
I've been on it and it's a decent enough road. As always watch out for those in a hurry.
