Non-imm-o Volunteer/ Family/friends At Hull

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any experience applying for a Non-Imm-O volunteer visa from Hull? What docs are needed?

Would the invitation letter need to be in Thai/English? In my case Ii would be from a Thai government school (not an NGO), does this make any difference?

Also, I heard about a Non-Imm-O for visiting family/friends. I didn't realise there was such a thing before. How long could one stay on this and

what is needed for this?

Thanks

You can apply for Non O Visa in Hull without any supporting documents on the basis of visiting friends. That will give you a 1 year visa. You will be given 90 days when you arrive and every 90 days you do a Visa run to unlock the next 90 days. If you do a Visa run just before your 1 year is up you can get another 90 days stretching the Visa to almost 15 months.

That sounds too good, and too easy to be true? Is that a multi-entry visa then? valid for 1yr?

There are only a few consulates around the globe that will issue this type of visa, and the number is shrinking. Multiple entry Non-O visa is valid for a year and will give 90 day permission to stay on each entry. As said, a border run just before the visa expires will give a further 90 day stay period, stretching the visa to 15 months. Hull is liberal on paperwork, but that varies from consulate to consulate.

I got one of these visa's just back in march from Hull. I went in person prepared with all letters and bank statements etc etc. The only questions were do you have the form filled in correctly? Do you have your photo's? Do you have your passport? And, most importantly, How would you like to pay sir?

They had no interest in looking at any other paperwork and it was all sorted in around 15 min from walking in to walking out with the NON-O in my passport.

you couldn't wish for it to be anymore straightforward.

Thanks guys, wow this sounds like a hidden gem. I am very happy to hear this! I wonder if it would make a difference if I applied by post?

MrClough - How did you know what docs to prepare? (Even though it sounds like one doesn't need them)

There seems to be nothing on the Hull website.

You can apply by post,no problems. The hull or Birmingham website shgould have the forms to download,as i do this every year, but you have to apply by post from uk

The link to Hull website is below. You can apply by post and will need to send in passport, recent passport sized photo, application form and fee. Suggest you also enclose a pre-paid special delivery envelope for return of your passport which will save you a few quid - cost around £4 against £8 that Hull will otherwise charge you. Am not aware that Birmingham consulate issues this type of visa.
