Samak & Abhisit

Please help me understand how Samak was moved from office very quickly for doing a cooking show on TV, and Thaksin's brother-in-law was removed in a heartbeat as well for irregular campaign whatever, but Abhisit's party has been proved to have received billions in illegal campaign donations and life goes on as if nothing happened? Is my understanding of this incorrect or is this an example of the double-standards the people in the street are complaining about?
