ozzieman05
i don't think a sniper picking off the opposition will go over too well in the international community. Ha! Ha! Ever heard of CIA or Mossad? These vile entities seem to go down real well in the international community! And compared to what that pair of collective douches get up to, both inside and outside their own supposed territory, this is chicken doodoo!! Man, I want to buy that sniper a bottle of champers! Great work, buddy!!! Wanted to buy the guy a beer myself but the line up is 2 blocks long seems there are more than just the 2 of us thinking this way Scale it down to pepsi, a shoulder shot is nothing to be proud of for a trained marksman. Shoulder shot Beg your pardon direct HV head shot
enginerevision
I think that is great news about Seh Daeng............. You ask for it, you often get it............. As for the other main Reds, They were given enough rope to hang themselves, now lets see what they do........ A pity though that they may take some poor farmer and his wife and children along with them........ ....

RussellHantz
There is really nothing to cheer about here.Sadly its only going to trigger a wave of political assasinations - Abhisit, Suthep, Kasit, their family members, others responsible etc - will end up victims of a bomb / grenade / sniper attack. They already tried to kill Abhisit, didn't they? The professionals havn't otherwise he would have been dead long ago. Regardless of whether Sae Daeng survives or not, Abhisit and Suthep wont be around much longer.

gregb
If they have got him, this may be the single largest moment to prevent mass casualties on both sides. He was a huge hindrance to peace. If they can clean up the other red terrorist leaders as well, then they might be able to introduce a moderate like Veera onto the stage and convince everyone to go home. We haven't seen or heard from him in a while. Rumour is he's in England, but he may very well be hiding out with the army waiting for the right time to retake control of the crowd. We can only hope. frodo
The Nation: Children, women are among those injured I am sorry to read this. I know I will be hammered for what I say, but what the hel_l are parents thinking allowing their kids to attend this, when they had been warned! These were the "protesters" that Jatuporn put at the flash points. He and the other leaders should be very proud for this. Women and children first. I hope the injured fully recover. lazurus
What morons you are here? It's not funny when somebody gets shot, especially in this fragile environment. And apparently most of you overlook the risk involved if he should really pass away. It may not be funny, but if you had to choose one guy who deserved it Seh Daeng would get a lot of votes.

ramsesxix
Thai Tv is saying Seh Daeng is dead Bush never got Bin Laden in seven years, so you have to finally give Abhisit some credit. I rarely post, but you cracked me up. I am not sure how this will play out, but I can only hope that this news will help to begin to bring an end to the situation. Harry2
Amazing all the blood thirsty posters. Western socialists in their most 'caring & compassionate' mode. Lt Gen Khattiya Sawasdipol has not been found guilty of any crime. If anyone has any evidence of his wrongdoing they should report it to the authorities. Until he is tried & found guilty he is an innocent man potentially murdered by a sniper.

News Flash Russell, they were ALREADY being targeted, and Sea Daeng was considered as the leader of those doing that. He got his own coming back. MacWalen
Latest from the CNN website, apparently shot in the chest not head but in 'critical' condition. The picture looks like he was giving karate lesson to his bodyguards. Most pictures of this man are aggressive, or this is just a wrong impression? "Bangkok, Thailand (CNN) -- A leader of anti-government protests in Thailand was in critical condition Thursday after being shot in the chest, according to his guards. Seh Daeng of the Red Shirt protesters was hospitalized, the guards said. Other sources confirmed the shooting. Witnesses said the gunshot appeared to come from a rooftop in a corner of Bangkok's Lumpini Park, where protesters have amassed. While it was unknown whether Thailand's military or government was behind the shooting, the government has previously made it clear it would shoot at what it called armed terrorists. A renegade Thai general, Seh's real name is Khattiya Sawasdipol and he is known to be one of the Red Shirts' most radical, hard-line leaders, said CNN's Dan Rivers. Other, more moderate leaders of the organization, who had insisted the protests were peaceful, had sought to distance themselves from him. Explosions and gunfire were heard near the site of the protests in Bangkok. One of the explosions came just after She's shooting, according to witnesses. It was not immediately clear whether the explosion stemmed from Red Shirt retaliation for the shooting."
