RioMist
Those of us that were hoping that Supersport would leave the remaining channels on for the world cup have had their hopes dashed tonight when the last of the Supersports channels were turned off. On Astro it is pretty much the same as on Truevisions, i.e. the WC will be shown on the regular free Malaysian channels and not their sports channels, with the exception of their HD sports channel. joncl
No such luck. the WC will be shown on the regular free Malaysian channels and not their sports channels, with the exception of their HD sports channel. An extra 5 dedicated SD (standard definition) and 1 HD world cup channels came up on Astro this morning along with all the schedules for each channel. Simply do a retune and you will see them. Well goodbye to Multichoice... So sad SS1 - SS7 are still there, SS2 is free to view at the moment, They simply deleted their old mux and renewed on one transponder. Forkinhades
Astro supersport, will be showing all 64 games live with possibly English commentary, all the sports channels that I have watched so far on Astro are English (available on TMN!) well according to their adverts anyway ps anybody want to buy a 3 metre satellite dish Edited June 9, 2010 by Forkinhades
monty
Astro supersport, will be showing all 64 games live with possibly English commentary, all the sports channels that I have watched so far on Astro are English (available on TMN!) well according to their adverts anyway ps anybody want to buy a 3 metre satellite dish No idea where you are getting that info! The Astro Supersport channels will NOT have the WC games. Astro will start extra channels to show all the WC games, FWC1 (which is on number 805 in the Astro receiver) which will show the games, and FWC2 (channel 806) if there are 2 games played simultaneously. Those channels will pop up for everybody with the sports package, so technically it would be possible for TMN (and the other cable companies) to show them, as they need the sports package to get supersports and supersports2! Officially these channels are active between 10/06 and 14/07, but it looks like joncl saw them pop up already earlier today! From Astro's website: 2. What are available on the World Cup dedicated channels? The 10 dedicated channels will begin transmission on June 10, 2010 and ends on July 14, 2010. You can get some of the key features from the channels like updated news, latest results and statistics, highlights of the actual live match, replays, team profiles, interactive games, and many more exciting content. HD Channel numbers: • Ch 825 – FWC 1 – Match 1 in HD • Ch 826 – FWC 2 – Match 2 in HD/Rolling Highlights • Ch 827 – FWC 3 – News Channel • Ch 828 – FWC 4 – Highlights Channel • Ch 810 – Mosaic Channel HD ( sharing with SD Mosaic channel ) SD Channel numbers • Ch 805 – FWC 1 – Match 1 • Ch 806 – FWC 2 – Match 2/Rolling Highlights • Ch 807 – FWC 3 – News Channel • Ch 808 – FWC 4 – Highlights Channel • Ch 810 – Mosaic Channel SD

Forkinhades
live and in HD , but of course we will not get HD in Thailand from astro?? or can you Monty, you seem to be the man, Phil Conners, what do you think m8
Phil Conners
From what I hear the only way to get Astro now is to get a receiver and card from Astro in Malaysia, as the card is now linked to the receiver. That would offer you the HD channels as well. At a price.
musiclover
live and in HD , but of course we will not get HD in Thailand from astro?? or can you Monty, you seem to be the man, Phil Conners, what do you think m8 I dont understand all this. Ive had Astro for 2 weeks now and they are showing all WC games in both SD and HD. The channels are already up. I can also get HD( but with a solid dish). 5 channels now and 3 more in 2 weeks! Thats 8 Hidef channels for a cheaper package than True and here in Pattaye the picture is already better than True even with the wrong dish! Also the cricket IS available on PPV ( most series) I miss Mchoice but this Astro is WELL worth getting. This is from someone who is actually watching it right now in Pattaya.
