I don't think you have to join dreaded ned at dot com to check their listings. Seven Sons is good if you're looking for less than 1000 baht per night and within the moat.

I think you mean the 'Seven Suns' Guesthouse, PB.

I presume that if it is listed on dreadedned it doesnt charge a joiners fee?

Pagoda Inn is very nice. Owned by Ott who ownd Circle Pub. Good price and good location.

Rice Field House in Doi Saket is very nice, quiet and great food but quite a way out of town. Only 4 rooms, swiming pool in a residential area.

Also it is not cheap

2.000 per room with 2 full 'american' breakfasts
