I just read some info on a site I found from a google search about visa runs that Penang only offers the 1 year multiple entry tourist visa, while another site says only the KL embassy. I have no idea how old the articles were so I'm wondering if you guys know if it matters which one? Basically I am in Phuket now on visa exempt and want to get a 1 year multiple entry visa (which I believe I have to leave every 90 days and return?) so I want to go down to Penang and apply for the visa there. Do people find a particular embassy to be any better than another? Also I have an Australian and U.K. passport. Anyone know if its better to apply on either one?

It is unlikely that you will get a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa in Asia unless you have a Thai Spouse.

The nearest possibility would be Perth Australia.

There is no such visa available anywhere for Thailand. Tourist visas are issued in specific number of entries and none are valid for one year. You appear to be talking about a multi entry non immigrant visa but you need to meet specific requirements for that and you have not presented any. Your nationality does not qualify you.

I think then that the 6 month validity, 2 to 4 entry tourist visa would be more appropriate for me or maybe even the 3 month validity, single entry tourist visa one but I would like to go to Laos and Vietnam for a visit so the multiple entry would be better, although I believe its harder to get???? Do you guys know if these visas are available at Penang??

That is where you should obtain a two entry tourist visa. Vientiane issues them and they are free.

You will not get a double entry in Penang.

You will in Vientienne.
