sabaijai Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Slash, together with a band that includes Myles Kennedy, formerly of Alterbridge, on vocals, is scheduled to perform at UrbanSpace -- tentative date 31 July. http://www.bandsintown.com/event/3633239-slash-bangkok-thailand-live-at-urbanspace-on-july-31-2010?artist=Slash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owXjPGosOtM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pAn75GM-fQ
Changian Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I only clicked on this because I thought it said 'Slash lives in Bangkok'

I would imagine Slash would be pretty upset if the sponsor wasn't Jack Daniels.
Monokuro Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) I made a thread about this a week or so ago - that info is wrong, he will be in Indonesia on that date http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=127969503906789&index=1 Edited July 13, 2010 by Monokuro

murray122 Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Where is Urbanspace Bangkok? Are these dates confirmed? I presume this is the area: http://www.urban-spaces.biz/index.html
junglist Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 says the 31 of july here but on his website it says 07/31 Surabaya, Indonesia Jatim Expo
bangsaenguy Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 says the 31 of july here but on his website it says 07/31 Surabaya, Indonesia Jatim Expo I don't see anything on Thai Ticket Major about it.
sabaijai Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Am trying to confirm with UrbanSpace, but what I heard was that the Surabaya gig had been either postponed/moved to an earlier date/cancelled. It's next to Gaysorn Plaza. http://www.urban-spaces.biz/index.html On UrbanSpace's FB page they say Slash is definitely playing, but no date mentioned.
marvinberry Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I found out about this concert a couple of weeks ago and have been researching into it heavily as I'm a massive G n' R fan. Here's what I know to date: a) Urban Space is behind Gaysorn Plaza and opposite Central World (I have been there) Construction of what looks like a stage is currently underway at Urban Space c) Both security and a bunch of motorbike taxi guys at Urban Space told me there was no concert due d) One other motorbike taxi driver who joined the conversation told me that it was a secret gig and tickets are going to be free. He said people will turn up on the night! e) Up until 2 days ago Slash's official website claimed he WAS at Urban Space on 31st July 2010. It has since changed to Indonesia!! So, sorry I don't have the answer but I'm just waiting like everyone else right now. Lets hope he does come over - it would be truly amazing!
Patsycat Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 where's axl ? Axl's in Europe. In fact I have a "date" with him in Geneva on the 16th of September!!

Though his Facebook site has said Indonesia for a while, as I was thinking to book tickets via it and travel there...

murray122 Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Just read this: http://thailawforum.com/blog/slash-concert-in-bangkok-looks-like-a-no-go Was really looking forward to it, anyone else have any more news?
marvinberry Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Yeah, Slash's website states he's definitely in Indonesia on 31st. All tour pages have been corrected in the last week or so. I was gonna go to Urban Space on Saturday on the off-chance of a secret gig, but after that bomb, there no chance of a concert taking place!
coldmike Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Idiots (Bombers). Love Slash. How big are GnR to local Thais?
murray122 Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Idiots (Bombers). Love Slash. How big are GnR to local Thais? slash.bmp This van gets loads of attention, was hoping to turn up to the event in it!
marvinberry Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 So, today's the day! 31st July! Anyone got any further news? I know he's playing Indonesia tonight but....you never know what might happen in the world of rock n' roll!
sabaijai Posted March 10, 2011 Author Posted March 10, 2011 http://www.thaiticketmajor.com/concert/slash-eng.php Venue IMPACT EXHIBITION HALL 2 Location Popular Road, T.Banmai, A.Pakkred, Nonthaburi Thursday March 10, 2011. 8.00 P.M. Gate Open 7.00 P.M.
Velocette Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Curiously, 'Slash' is cockney slang for 'piss' as in "I'm going to take a slash" . . . . . . . . I always found GnR, to be rather pedestrian and dull, Axle uses a very effected vocal style that I find irritating, and his gyrations are cringeworthy. I thought Slash looked like a pantomine dame, and lets be honest, have you ever heard him play anything resembling a decent riff ? . . . .even Fast Eddie from Motor Head could play decent riffs, it's what real guitarist do.
appropriate Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Was a top class GnR cover band.... with Slash. Unfortunately the locals don't know how to let loose and enjoy themselves at a hard rock concert, should someone maybe loose face if there's a bit of moshing going on. Everyone standing rigid with their iPhone (I even saw an iPad held up) up to video it. No jumping, no having fun, the most boring bunch of <deleted> I've ever been to a concert with.
