i would to know if it is necessary to get an letter of invitation of thai friend in order to have Visa non immigrant 0?

Where will you apply for a non-O and on what grounds?

Most consulates will not issue based on visiting friends, those that do now seem indeed to require you have proof of a friend in Thailand.

Only two Consulates are known for providing on that basis (and may require copy of ID card) and they are Hull and Perth.

You will have to contact Hull. I believe at the least the address of this friend will be required but only they can answer you question.

On the website from Hull you can download the necessary forms. One of the forms is where you have to write down the address of a friend in Thailand, but as of yet there is no need for a copy of the friends ID-card.

I went to Hull for a multi non O visa and gave them the letter from my girlfriend (who was with me at the time). She looked at me like I had two heads as she said she rarely gets invitation letters but she would take it anyway.

I thought this to be a little strange.

You don't need any invitation letter or any ID to get a non O from Hull for visiting a friend; You only need to write his/her address on the form Ad you download on the site. And this friend don't need to be Thai, only someone with an address in Thailand.

By using combination of funds in Thai Bank acc. and pension payments to make up the THB 800,000.For example, 400,00 in Bank and anual pension of 400,00.Is this OK? And can the pension money be used during the 90 day pre visa renewal period ? Thanks for any info.

When using the combined method there is no requirement to season the money. But of course it most be there when you apply.

I don't know if they check, but if they do they can cancel your visa because you supplied incorrect information.

Just give them the address of a friend in Thailand, one of your neighbours will do.
