Hi,

I will be coming to Don Meung airport soon.

I need to get to Swampy.

What, if any, buses are there to do this?

What is the cost?

And also the cost of a meter cab for the same journey?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

There was a Bus doing that route, but the last time [ 2 weeks ago] not anymore!

What I did; Taxi to Mo Chit [ 100 Baht], There every 30 min. Bus to Swampy. Not take the Inter-prov. terminal, but the side of the City-busses.

I cannot remember the number, but there are very friendly people to advise you!

Enoy your trip!

I have now discovered that there is a service bus from Don Mueang to swampy.

bus nos.

554

555

no idea on schedules but its a start!

Both depart from/to the Transport Center at the airport and you need to take the shuttle bus. Both run every 20-30 mins and the 555 runs 24 hrs (I think the same for the 554 but need to confirm). Cost will be 34-38 baht.

The 555 is a little quicker. The route (from the Airport), 555 along the expressway to Asoke then Rama 9 to Din Daeng then all the way up Vihavadi to DM then Rangsit. Reverse to Airport.

The 554 from DM, south to Chaeng Wattana road, then Ram Inthra then the Eastern ring road south to the west side of the Airport.

You can catch both from the bus stop located outside DM Domestic on Vihavadi road.

Expect a journey time of 40 mins for the 555 and 1 hr for thr 554 but if it morning, or even afternoon peak, then longer for both.

If you don't have much luggage you can also take mini-vans with the same numbers which run the same routes. Cost maybe 40-50 baht and will drop you direct at the Departures level. (from the Airport they depart opposite the buses at the Transport Center but you have to wait for them to fill up)

is your information up-to-date year 2010 ?

I know some of the 55x-buses have been discontinued, but some started operating again later.

there is a plethora of information available online everywhere, but it seems somehow difficult to find out what is the actual Status Quo..... most of it seems to be outdated.....

Yes the info is current for those two routes. I would not take the time to type it up and mislead someone unless I was certain. I do agree there is a lot of outdated info on the web.

Cannot comment on other routes (except 551) but I do note that there are 2 new 55x routes as of a few months ago.

If your unsure you could call the BMTA.
