August 9, 201015 yr I'm presently living in Thailand on a retirement visa. My visa expires in about a month but need to stay in Thailand about a week after it expires, (will be leaving the country for 3 months after that). Is there any way to get a 30 day tourist visa or any other visa/extension, from within Thailand for about a week or so. Please advise Thank you.
August 9, 201015 yr You can not obtain a new retirement extension of stay? You are not married to a Thai or father to a Thai? They would probably allow you 7 days to pack out but will cost same 1,900 baht and they may want to see ticket to stamp your passport.

I am married to Thai (ceremony but no legal documentation) have child from marriage too with Thai/Brit passports.
August 9, 201015 yr Without registered marriage you are not married for immigration purposes. You might be able to obtain 60 day extension for child if your name is on the Thai paperwork. But if you only need a week it is probably best to just use the 7 day option and not have to involve wife/children. But something to remember in the future.
August 9, 201015 yr Author Agreed I presume the 7 day option is exactly that 7 days for 1900 baht. If I need 8 days I have a problem......OK thank you very much.
August 9, 201015 yr Extend your retirement visa for another year, and get a reentry permit for when you return.
