rsn
We already plan on sending her flash cards, letting the airline know that she does not speak English, and perhaps calling CBP as well. It seems like a longshot, but I figured I would check and see if anyone who speaks both Thai and English plans on flying into Chicago from BKK in October of this year. Let me know. Thanks! Hans Brix
what airline is she going on dude? What's the 1st USA stop? If it's SF then they have translators there. LA should also as does NY but my wife can't find anything in chicago. Best thing is email her a letter to bring and have her show it to immi officer: Sorry I cant speak English, My name is _____ I'm going to _______, I'm staying for ___ days, I'm staying at daughter's house, her name and number are ....., my daughter is picking me up at airport. that'll work dude
Thanyaburi Mac
She'll need to fill out a couple of forms prior to arrival, the I-94 and the Customs form. Do a google for these then print out blank forms for her to take along. She can use these as samples. http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/id_visa/i-94_instructions/filling_out_i94.xml http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/vacation/sample_declaration_form.xml Mac

Then when she gets the actual forms on the plane, she can, hopefully, complete them herself in English.
