Did not TAT just come out and said less than 8%.:whistling:

They seem to have changed estimate every other week!!!!!

And they are all to be warmly greeted (and threatened) by the Armed men in black newly installed at the airport.:bah:

do they really think making announcements like this will actually will make a difference in the tourism ?

No. But I was talking with my landlord's son the other day, he's the president of the Rawai Longtail Boat Assn and he was saying tourism should be up, he hopes. I said did you know that the Baht is at a relative high against the Dollar, Euro and pound? His face kind of dropped. He then told his brother and several other boat drivers what I just said and there weren't any smiling faces... But it's high season soon, and I have seen a bit more activity here. It was dead here in south Phuket for months! I like it without tourists, but I feel for the local business people that are dependent on tourists...

Why don't they just save all the pratting about and have a standard press handout "Tourist arrivals are expected to be up from between -25% and +100%".

Trot it out four times a yer.

It will be just as meaningful and probably a darn sight more accurate.

Good one.
