News_Editor Posted October 3, 2010 Share Posted October 3, 2010 Plane crash kills six in Peru, including four British tourists 2010-10-03 11:10:48 GMT+7 (ICT) LIMA, PERU (BNO NEWS) -- A small plane crash on Saturday south of the Peruvian capital of Lima left six people killed, including four British tourists, officials said. The crash involving a Cessna plane occurred around 4:15 p.m. local time in Majoro sector, in Ica department, after the plane took off from the María Reiche airport to fly over the Nazca Lines, a series of ancient geoglyphs that are one of the country's major tourist attractions. Emergency officials said that Peruvians Gilberto Zuniga and Ricardo Cardenas, pilot and copilot, were killed in the crash along with Andrew Brown, 30, Gail Cowel, 34, Warren Beckham, and Alex Bowel, 34, all British tourists. The small plane belonged to the company Air Nasca.
