Shampoo And Conditioner, The Natural Way..?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Ive decided to give up on Shampoo;s and conditioners as they seem to make my head ithcy and I swear they will make me bald lol.

My Granma use to use oilve oil, which helps with dry scalp but Ive heard from my girlfriend that kaffir lime juice is great for it..!

Basically does anyone know how to use natural products e.g preperation, timing, is it safe, so I can start to do it..?

Also any other ingrediants would be great to know...

HI try earthclinic.com they have some remedies but I have not tried them personally

http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/hair_shampoo.html

I use an SLS free shampoo and will never go back to regular shampoos.

most natural shampoos are not really natural. For example they use Sodium Laurel Sulphate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) which are detergents.

SLS is in dish shop, laundry detergent and is also a garage cleaner.

never mind the other harsh chemicals. We even have an email from the Body Shop that says their products are naturally inspired

Here is the quote "The Body Shop's products contain natural ingredients, which can represent 0.5% - 99% of the formulation. We do not promote ourselves as "all-natural."

This is really scarry as all their marketing would have one think they are only natural......yet can be only .5%. ...

We carry 2 shampoos in our online shop that have no SLS and no SLES and that we really love. They do not strip the hair and scalp of natural oils... the base ingredients are plant based.

Also we carry a coconut oil soap that can be used as a shampoo but as a woman personally I love it for my body but not my hair.

Also for more info on the toxins in cosmetics and natural products visit http://storyofstuff.org/cosmetics/

and to look up the stuff in your shampoo check out the cosmetics database. It rates the ingredients as safe, toxic, carcinogenic...

Quick update

Ive done the egg washing twice now and it does seem to thicken and give my natural color a bosst already!

I mix the yokes with a bit of olive on to dry hair, then rinse it off after about 20 to 30 minutes.

So far it hasnt solved the itchy scalp and doesnt have a fragrant smell but perhaps it will after a few go´s but I may also have to use a different formula after this rinse.

Then again it could be the water as its quite hard here.
