Could anyone give me the procedure of what one has to do to apply for "extension of stay" for work related reasons when the visa entered on was Non ED? To make it a little clearer.. Going from Non-ED to Non-B while remaining in the country (extending my stay and being able to work legally but not really getting an "official" non-b by re-entering the country).

I have searched the forums however the process doesn't seem very clear to me. From what I gathered it seems to be something similar to this.

1. Get a letter from the school stating that you have left education

2. Apply for the work permit using said letter and other details that the work permit requires

3. Go to immigration and get an extension of stay with receipt of the work permit application and other details a normal non-b requires

Is this correct?

I am on an Ed visa and have just received a work permit, I called Immigration in Korat and they told me I had to go outside of Thailand and apply for a Non 0 visa with work permit. They told me it could not be done in Thailand.

Is that an ED visa for education purposes or while being a teacher? I hear that different rules apply if you're a teacher?

Normally it is a "B" visa for work and there is no conversion from education so you have to leave with normal proof of employment to obtain the visa.
