Bagsida
Private Visa-Run Phuket -> Ranong on 08. Feb. 2011 Like many times before I am planning a private, non commercial Visa-Run from Phuket to Ranong (Club Andaman) on 08. Feb. 2011 by private car. 1-2 passengers would be welcome. Shared costs. The last Visa-Runs where very relaxed and a good opportunity too to meet other expats and long term tourists. At the end it will be more expensive than by minibus or bus but save, individual and relaxed. Someone interested ? Ask here or by PM for details. This photo we took on our last trip in Ranong Bagsida
H2oDunc
Am I missing something but how can a shared cost drive to Ranong be more expensive than a normal visa run.If you are just sharing the cost of the fuel between 2-3 people it should be cheaper ? Bagsida
Am I missing something but how can a shared cost drive to Ranong be more expensive than a normal visa run.If you are just sharing the cost of the fuel between 2-3 people it should be cheaper ? The same Visa-Run you can get by minibus with about 9 people for THB 1,800.- incl. Visa for Burma, Boat-Trip and meals, that means THB 16,200.- for the Visa-Run-Company. If you "run private" each "runner" has to pay the fee of THB 850.- for the Burma-Visa + boat by himself. With shared costs you´ll have to calculate the expenses at least you will have only because of this trip (not insurance, services etc.) - but not the fuel only. By the way the visa-run-companies are getting special prices for the boat trip and lunch. If you travel with 3 people the expenses are about THB 2,000,- per person (incl. Burma-Visa, boat and up to what you order for lunch) and nearly the same, than by minibus. It would be cheaper with 4 or more people, but it´s not convenient any more if you don´t have a minbus
