LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) -- Actress Eva Longoria on Wednesday filed for divorce from NBA's point guard Tony Parker after 3 years of marriage.

Longoria filed for divorce after claiming irreconcilable differences. In the past week, several rumors surfaced indicating that the San Antonio Spurs player was caught cheating on his wife with a woman married to another basketball player.

"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness," Longoria wrote on her twitter account.

On Tuesday, representatives for both Longoria and Parker denied the rumors that the couple was splitting, however, the Desperate Housewives star filed for divorce at Los Angeles Superior Court just a day after denying it.

Longoria is seeking spousal support from Parker and the couple signed a prenuptial agreement since a month before their marriage in 2007. The prenuptial document was updated two years later in 2009.

"Extra" host and Longoria's close friend Mario Lopez claimed that the actress told him that she found hundreds of text messages from another woman on Parker's cellphone. Lopez added that Longoria confirmed him that the woman is married to another basketball player and former teammate of Parker.

Lopez informed that he will give more details on Parker's infidelity including a past affair with another woman in his Wednesday night show. In 2007, it was alleged that Parker cheated on Longoria with a French model but the actress stood by her husband despite the rumors.

Sports Illustrated's Bryan Graham said that the mystery woman is no other than Erin Barry, the wife of former Spurs player Brent Barry. The former teammate of Parker has also filed for a divorce.

Longoria, 35, and Parker, 28, were engaged in November 2006 and married on July 2007, at Chateau of Vaux le Vicomte, a 17th Century castle on the outskirts of Paris. The did not have any children despite Longoria was frequently the target of pregnancy rumors.
