Ed Visa Here In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hello,

We are getting conflicting information on this sooo thought we would ask the EXPERTs here at Thai Visa.

My Filipino Wife would like to start studing Thai with an Education Visa for a Year.

I the America Husband would like to get a Dependant Visa to stay in Thailand

while she Studies.

All the Language Schools says it is impossible to get a Dependant Visa in Conjuction

with the ED VISA.

About 50 % of the VISA SERVICES says YOU can and 50% say you can't...

Does ANYONE know what the REAL CORRECT Answer is to this question.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Moving this to the visa forum vacationman, where you wiII receive more info. WiII Ieave a Iink in the cm forum redirecting.

Yes, you can get an extension of stay based on being a dependent of someone on an ED-visa. However, to be able to get the extension as a dependend the person on the ED-visa must be on a 1 year extension of stay. And that is where the problem is, as for a normal language course you don't get a 1 year extension of stay but only 90 day extensions of stay. Your wife would have to follow a course at university level to be able to get a 1 year extension of stay, which cost a lot.
