petercallen
Does this mean you have found a house Peter? We have seen a few houses of interest and a lot we are not interested in. One which is value for money would need one or two skylights, the agent had no idea what a skylight was. No we have not found the right house yet but have seen a couple of good buys and are getting an idea of the true value of property here. We are not in a hurry there are thousands of property's on the market and not many buyers.

I know a good skylight guy in Perth , as I lost 6 windows and 2 skylights in the huge hailstorm there in March (just as I was putting the house on the market!). Can't say I've noticed skylights in houses here.

They seem to be made from welded steel and glass. Check out Salvatores Italian Restaurant. An inexpensive way is to replace one or several roof bricks with a plastic material, and replace some of the ceiling with "clear" poly-sheets. petercallen
The type i want has a clear plastic dome with a flange on it that fits into the roof tiles, It has a reflective tube about 40cm in diameter that comes down to the ceiling and joins to a round light fitting. On a cloudy day its as good as any light and on a sunny day it gives a brilliant light.

Bring a sample of rooftile, or at least read rooftiles maker and model underneath, to get correct fit.

Valentine
Jomthong Home Mart on Chao Fa East also have dedicated roofing specialists along with easy to see, transparent roof samples showing exactly how a roof should be done including all the bits & pieces under the tiles.
