I think you need to open your eyes, as many countries that adhere to the presumption of innocense, set out in Article 11 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are detained 'innocent suspects' for weeks, months, years, before they see a court room to be proven guilty. Some countries, after no guilty conviction, appeal that, and recharge or retry them.
