I want to get a tourist visa, but I got my passport in October, but I'm going in the end of January. Will it be a problem? And also, would I be able to go to Thailand without a visa and then get one there? I am staying for three months.

Best is to apply for a tourist visa. This will give you an entry for 60 days, which can be extended by 30 days in Thailand itself for 1,900 baht. The tourist visa itself is currently free. You can apply by mail at most consulates.

Without a visa the airline might not let you on board, as you plan to stay 3 months.

But on the embassy website, it says: Passport (valid for no less than 6 months)

And I have only had a passport for 2 months.

It means when entering Thailand, your passport needs to be valid for at least another 6 months. Not that you should have your passport for at least 6 months.

Valid for not less than... You've had your Passport for two months! New Passport valid for 10 years. !0 years minus 2months = Your passport valid for 9 years 10 months. That is valid for more than 6 months!
