Non Imm-O "Volunteer Visa" By University

Featured Replies

Hi,

i've got an invitation letter from Chiang Mai University certifying that i'll join their volunteer program. it's real, no fake.

i can't find anything on the boards - so, you have any idea where to go in region? which consulate works fine? any experiences or advice?

Thanks na khrap :-)

With a letter from the University Vientiane should be fine. Anyway, i suspect the university can tell you.

Assuming you are currently in Chiang Mai I would first apply for a work permit and take the WP3 form along to the consulate when you apply for the visa. This might be very helpful in getting the visa.

Thanks.

1) Vientiane just some 2 weeks ago rejected renewal of Tourist Visa. so i feel a bit reluctant to go there. i'm wondering about Singapore or KL, Penang?

2) this specific volunteer-project of CMU had people coming into Thailand from overseas on visa-exempt-stamp. so they're quite confident; i'm not ;-)

3) Mario, the wp is an excellent idea! i'll meet CMU-staff tomorrow and i'll discuss it with them.
