crazygreg44
this happens with most resorts in prominent spots. Just a question, WHERE do you want to spend New Year ? Try to be flexible. if you haven't been there before, it might be useful to know a few resorts or hotels in the area of your preference. again .. WHERE is your point of destination ? We in the forum cannot offer help without at least a hint on what you intend to do
sunholidaysun1
Hi Annabel, this is s busy period here in Chiang Rai , many people come back to their homes from around the country for New Year but also an influx of Thai tourists also as well as other nationalities. We have the food festival on at the moment followed by the Flower festival and obviously Christmas and New year Celebrations. There are many places to stay here and it would be hard to know which ones have any vacancies unless you call them all . Try http://www.homestay-chiangrai.com but be sure to ask if they will supply drop off and pick-up from the New Year Celebrations. Heres a few others to look at http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g297920-Chiang_Rai-Hotels.html The main celebration area for New Year will be at the Golden Clock Tower so anywhere near to that and most places will be full . Enjoy your stay
