I'm all into this wifi thing now with my new Compaq notebook, I can sit in the Londoner or elsewhere swig beers and run most of my business from my computer. However my battery is only good for 2 hours, and these places aren't too friendly when you want to use their juice so I could do with an additional plug in power pack.

Are these things available? Are they worthwhile? Any comment please fellas.

Buy a couple of extra battery packs, I think if you had 3 packs you should get up to 6 hours. Just don't use the CD/DVD and sound card unless you have to, they sap up the juice.

Notebook batteries are notoriously expensive... usually thousands of baht. Any type of battery is usually fairly heavy... I think finding a place which allows you to use their outlets would be easier in the long run.

External battery packs seem to be almost as much as buying a new battery. I'd buy an extended battery from the manufacture and switch out.

Went down the shops today they're asking 3-4 grand for either new internal battery and around the same for an external.
