Its a Mozilla Firefox problem for sure. As i can see and hear on IE. Any ideas of how i can get round this. I dont want to use IE if i can help it.

Why do so many people use Firefox? Is it better than IE?

Normally. Its usually quicker and doesnt have as much adware etc that goes with it.

Posted

What do u mean by more quicker and safer? I havent seen any adware in IE yet and the speed depends on the internet connection, doesnt it?

Posted
Do u have the latest version of windows media player installed, with codecs pack ?

Yes. I think it has something to do with Firefox not reading something in WMP. Or something like that.

To answer my own question.. yes it does..

When I have had this problem before I just reinstalled WMP and then it worked. Possibly something to do with the way firefox detects WMP.. :o

So my advice - reinstall Windows Media Player.. :D

Drastic... but it did work for me when I had this same problem.. :D And it still works fine now, not had to reinstall since.. I'm sure that it's because Firefox can't detect WMP unless it's installed after firefox is installed.

You know i cant do that. But also on this Radio station i get the same thing.

http://www.srhdev.co.uk/dynamicstreams/med...2&playertype=wm

ie. additional plug ins required. I think its got something to do with Windows media player.

I can hear it fine! (Even though the site says "Currently Under Maintenance - estimated down time 30 minutes").

You need to download whatever plug-in is missing. Usually a line appears at the top of the Firefox page and you have to click on it to install the plug-in.

Excellent! They're now playing Suspicious Minds by Elvis - very appropriate for the TG/F :o

I used Firefox before, but it has sometimes problems with Java pages and encryption. Cannot access my online banking for instance.

Now I'm using Opera and no problems so far. Just stay away from IE....
