The normal way is to 'print' your word document to PDF.

Just go File=>print as usual. If the full version of Acrobat is installed, you should see some sort of pdf or distiller option listed as a 'printer' in your print dialogue box. Pick that one and you'll be asked where you want to save the PDF file.

You can use Adobe Professional which has Adobe PDF Writer in it. This allows you to use any application that you can print from to create a PDF file. It shows up in the printer list as Adobe PDF.

If you have installed Adobe Acrobat after MS Office, you should have a PDFMaker toolbar in MS Word, you just need to click on the icon named Conver to Adobe PDF.

If you don't have this toolbar, just go to File/Print, and for the printer select Adobe PDF.

Click on Print, and that's it...
