Air Madagascar entices Thai tourists

BANGKOK:-- Air Madagascar yesterday launched a ‘buy one get one free’’ promotional tour package to spur Thai businessmen and tourists to fly with the carrier.

Howard M Noble, the airline’s regional sales development manager for Asia, said that it would pursue marketing and promotional activities in Thailand to attract more people to the island. The carrier has operated two direct flights from Bangkok to Antanarivo since June 2004. Currently, the route has a load factor of 65 per cent.

With the new campaign, Air Madagascar will offer a round-trip air ticket for two people at Bt35,695. The price excludes fuel surcharges and tax worth Bt3,700.

Noble said the campaign was expected to attract 700-800 Thais during the last five months of the year.

Noble hopes the number of Thai visitors will grow by 15 per cent this year after it recently joined with Thai Airways on a code-sharing agreement in June.

So that means that they could be part of Star Alliance.. great more Air Miles...but then prob not on V-W.....MPRai....

er wheres Maddagaska?.....whats the shopping like?..are the hotels guest friendly...what time do the bars shut......

2 people for 40k is very good value. They did go to Singapore some time back but pulled out. Not sure why they think Bangkok would be more profitable. Becoming a popular place for eco-tourism, I've seem a few tv holiday progs about it.
