CHESAPEAKE, OHIO (BNO NEWS) -- A small airplane on Sunday crashed near the Lawrence County Airport in Chesapeake, Ohio, injuring the pilot and a passenger, local media reported.

At around 1:50 p.m. local time, the small aircraft, which was carrying Scott Bell, the pilot, and Carla Bell, the passenger, both 48, crashed down as it was heading westbound, the Herald Dispatch reported.

Both were transported to St. Mary's Medical Center after the crash and were reported to have suffered only minor injuries. They were also reportedly conscious following the incident.

According to reports, the plane was intact after the crash, but the cause of the incident is still unclear, as whether the small aircraft was taking off or landing.
