Retirement Extension

Featured Replies

I posted here about six weeks ago asking for inof on how soon I could apply for ret extension. Below is some info on how I fared

On April 19 2008 I receieved retirement visa with Expiry on April 19th 2009

On April 8th 2009 I received first extension with an Expiry date remaining April 19th 2010 (expiry date permission to saty in country till that date)

On April 6th 2010 receievd second extension with an expiry date of 19the April 2011

On Febrary 20th 2011 received an extension with expiry date of 19th April 2012

The reason for applying early was I have to leave country for personal reasons.

My current extension was issued 45 days prior to my annual renewal date of April 6th and 58 days prior to 19th April.

Not sure what it all means but at leats it shows you can renew early.

Immigration encourages you to it early and allows it 30 days prior. Normally if there is a reason such as travel in your case, they will even do it earlier.

Most immigration officers I have dealt with provide good service and tend to be very accommodating.

But, apparently in Phibun, they won't give you a few extra days because the wife's pregnancy affects that 30-day window...

As the other poster says I have always been impressed with the help and proffesionalism of staff. Just initial visa I did not have everything I needed and there were no favours but once everyhting was correct no problem
