Featured Replies

Having finally come to an agreement and ended a Thai Marriage after months of Headaches,

upon sealing the Divorce at a Local Ampur Office and coming out Certificate in Hand.. If one

wanted to marry again in the near future, is their a 3 or 6 month compulsory gap between the

Divorce and Legal Registration of a New Marriage.....?

Yep, a girl having the name Stu would be different.

A man can marry minutes after divorcing, a women has to wait something like 160 days (not too sure of the exact duration) the reason for this is given as making sure she isn't pregnant.

Not much more than a boy named Sue.

Woman can marry earlier with medical certificate I believe.

Yes, a woman must wait something like 290 days unless:

1. she remarries her ex-husband

2. she shows a medical certificate that she is not pregnant

3. she has given birth during the time she was not married anymore

A Thai woman must wait 310 days after divorce before she can remarry. A foreigner should be able to remarry at any time. I also have the divorce certificate in hand after a 2 month marriage to a Thai woman. As far as I know I can remarry tomorrow. I have studied Thai Marriage and Divorce laws.....There is nothing mentioned about a foreigner having to wait.

On the other points Mario is correct.
