Non-Imm-B Business Visa In Hanoi Possible?

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have to 'renew' my multiple entry business visa in October, however, I would love to be able to do that in Hanoi, where I'm planning a trip to anyway.

Did anyone hear of this possibility? In this thread

it is mentioned that a Non-Imm-B is possible, but I would need one that allows multiple entries.

thanks,

p.

In neighboring countries multiple entry non-B's are difficult to get, only in Malaysia (Penang and Kuala Lumpur) are they issued based on working and under certain conditions.

Suspect the answer will be no, but there are not many reports about Vietnam. Those I have seen seems to indicate they are friendly and you could give it a try. Call them first!

As said the reason for a new non-B, doing business or work, will be of importance.

Yes, it would be for work, along with a letter of recommendation etc.

Do you think that would be a problem?

thanks, p.

As said, not much experience. If you have more than 8 months left on your work permit Penang, Malaysia, seems a more sure choice to apply.

Otherwise it is wait and see, but don't hope for more than a single entry and consider yourself lucky if it will be a multiple.

Do you mean you have work or a paper saying you may have work? Do you have a work permit? Suspect that may make a difference.

@lopburi: yes exactly. 2 yrs already.

I suspect that means you have a work permit? Have you checked about extension of stay? There is a financial requirement but most people, if they can, would prefer to not have to make 90 day border runs. Although perhaps your frequent travel makes the visa cheaper than an extension/re-entry permit? Think it would be about the same. Most Consulates will not issue multi entry for those employed so I would contact them before flying there. Or take the paperwork with you on your trip and give it a try.
