Roadside bomb kills 12 civilians in Afghanistan

2011-03-06 22:02:42 GMT+7 (ICT)

PAKTIKA, AFGHANISTAN (BNO NEWS) -- At least 12 civilians, including women and children, were killed on Sunday by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan's southeastern province of Paktika, the governor's office said.

A passenger coach struck a roadside bomb in Wazikhwa district at 10am local time, killing 12 people and wounding five others. The victims were on their way to Sharan, the provincial capital, from Quetta city of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province. The injured were taken to an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) medical facility in the area, Pajhwok Aghan News reported.

The Taliban insurgents were blamed for planting the bomb in the area.

President Hamid Karzai denounced the attack. Most of the victims belonged to one family, said the president, who added the target were poor people who travelled from one area to another to eke out a living.

ISAF and the United States Embassy in Kabul also condemned the insurgent attack.

"This brutal terrorist act demonstrates that the insurgents have no respect for human life," the U.S. Embassy said in a statement

Obvious propaganda, there is no way it could have been the Talibans fault. We all know only the ISAF targets civilians, right guys?

How come I didn't see anybody criticize this attack?
