Hi,

According to the Thai labour law (Labor Protection Act B.E. 2541 (1998)), an employer shall pay “severance pay” an employee who is terminated the contract. The severance pay due depend of the duration of the employment period.

To my understanding, the severance pay is due by the employer only if the employer end the contract, but should not be due if it is the employee who ends the contract by resigning.

I just would like to have a confirmation of my understanding, that an employee who resigns is not entitled to severance pay?

Thanks for your help.
