Canada
Recently I was in Udon to buy a bike. I wanted to register there rather than in Chiang Mai. I went to immigration. I had nothing except a passport and needed a letter certifying residence. They took my picture, copied my passport and presto, I had a letter, all for 400 baht. They were very polite and accommodating especially for a guy who showed up looking for a photocopy store that took pictures as well.Chiang Mai....I went in yesterday at 12:30. I asked someone at a desk behind the counter a simple question that required a simple yes/no answer. He Said yes I could ask, listened, then looked at the clock on the wall and said I would have to wait till 1:00 when they were open for service. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut and walk out the door.Any similar experiences????Yesterda
