Retirement Visa Overstay

Recommended Posts

My wife and I received our annual retirement visas in June this year. Because of an urgent visit to UK last year my wife and I are out of sync with our 90 day checks at Immigration. I checked last month. She has just realised she is overstay by 13 days and the Pattaya office is closed until Monday. What does she need to know and do before Monday, the earliest time she can call at Soi 8? What can she expect when she is confronted by the Overstay officer? Are we talking jail/deportation? Help please.

Don't worry about it. You have 7 days on each side of the 90 notification date. If you go over that time frame the fine is 2,000 baht and then you start your 90 days from that date. A friend had the same problem he was over something like 6 months. That was about 2 months ago and another person I know said his friend had the same problem about a month ago and it was still 2K baht. Don't worry just go to the immigration office and have the fine payment in hand. You'll get a receipt. JD
