Selling Your Thai Property

Featured Replies

Hi I am not planing to sell my house but i wondered about the document you need to take money, that came from the UK to buy the house, back out to the UK, if you do sell.

I have a copy of the money transfer document from my UK bank but have nothing from the Thai bank it went to. Is that enough, or do i need anything else? just thinking ahead in case i ever do want to sell.

Thanks

I am not positive there mate but don't you need a copy of the Tor Tor 3 form, from your Thai bank indicating that the money was sent from outside Thailand for the purpose of buying a property? I think you would have needed that to complete the purchase. A copy of your of the Sale and Purchase contract wouldn't go amiss either, though I do not know if that is necessary.

Thanks mate i guess i have a tor tor 3 form but as its all in thai not sure what it looks like! I do have the rest of the paperwork.

Thanks

Think your problem will arise when you try to get your bank to wire a large amount out of Thailand. I think they must get Bank of Thailand approval for forex transcations over a certain figure - you could 'innocently' and 'naively' ask them what the limit of transaction is without seeking BOT approval.

S'pose you could try the briefcase route - but you must have seen those big warning signs just past outbound Immigration at Don Muang. The limit ther,e IK think is 10,000 baht.
