Needing to drink lots of fluids can be a possible symptom of diabetes but that is only one possibility. I take medication for high BP which was picked up a few years ago; I must say I was totally surprised at the time as I had no symptoms to allude me of the fact.

All hospitals are equipped to run general health checks such as blood tests, check BP etc. I guess the "better" hospitals, from a farang point of view, would include BNH Hospital; Bumrungrad ; Phayathai 1 & 2 ;Samitivej; Vibhavadi General ;Vejthani etc and they would have specialists to deal with hypertension and cardiovascular problems if needed.

Do a 'hospital' search in this forum; you will probably pick up some information from those posts about some of these.

Hope you can sort out what is happening & start to feel better naaa.

In general I classify 2 types of hypertension. The first type can be dealt with easily and effectively with hypnotherapy (without medication.) Typically I have seen a range of 8 to 42 point drop in each systolic and diastolic with most being in the range of 22 to 30 points. Often that is enough for some people to reduce or end their medication with their doctors blessing. Reduced or no medication means reduced or no negative side effects that most men fear. Think of a garden hose with water running in it. If you park a car or stand on it the flow is reduced while the upstream pressure in increase. That can be cause by anxiety or stress in that muscles tense when stress in experienced.

If no drop occurs the second cause more likely and is more urgent. That cause is usually due to a blockage of some sort and that is most defiantly life threatening. For those people I recommend that they should get to their doctor right way as this can easily precede a stroke or other life changing illness. Unfortunately most doctors can’t make this diagnosis without a lengthy work up. With hypnotherapy is becomes very apparent in the first session. Often people ignore what their body is saying until it is too late. Depending on the combination of what changes in the systolic and diastolic and how much after hypnotherapy tends to be a good inexpensive indicator as to what the problem may be. I have been told this by doctors who have sent me people for hypertension. I would recommend to everyone that has hypertension check to see what is the cause, and just don’t assume a pill makes it okay again. There is a underlying reason that should be identified, thus try to treat the cause and not the symptom. Listen to your body simply because you body does not lie. All I am trying to point out is there are alternatives to medication that people should know about, and to always try to find the underlying cause. To answer your question, I think any hospital here in Bangkok will provide you with what you seek. I plan to write on this topic in the coming months in the Big Chilli.

That's why they call it the silent killer, Hypertension can affect your kidneys, eyes, cause stroke, enlarge your heart, ... it's natural for BP to increase with age.

Also there's spiking BP, the stress of just having it checked in the Doc's office can raise it 40 points, then when your home it's normal.

Any competent GP can diagnose and treat, staying on your meds is the challenge.

Sometimes just quiting smoking and losing some weight can be enough to negate having to take meds, :o
