Democrat differs from Pheu Thai in income guarantee policy

BANGKOK, 29 May 2011 (NNT)-Finance Minister Mr. Korn Chatikawanit has expressed his confidence that the Democrat’s income guarantee scheme for farmers will gain popularity from the Thai public, adding that this is what differentiate hia party from the Pheu Thai Party.

Mr. Korn said today while visiting residents of Don Mueang during his political campaign that he was confident that the Democrat had received good supports from many constituencies in Bangkok so far. He stated that Democrat candidates contending in the capital city had the ability and years of political experience under their belts. Above all else, Mr. Korn said they were the residents of their own constituencies.

As for the income guarantee policy. He said it was different from that of the Pheu Thai Party in that the Democrat allowed the market mechanism to determine their incomes. Meanwhile, he said it was a challenge for the Democrat to gain political supports from the residents of Don Mueang district given that his Party had never been elected in this constituency before but believed that it would be different this year.
