Mepagyl Antibiotic Tablets

Featured Replies

I'm trying to get the Thai language/ script name for Metronidazole 400mg antibiotic tablets, known as Mepagyl in Thailand.

I've written to both the Thai producer and the Thai distributor who haven't bothered to reply :realangry:

Also known as Almus, APO-Metronidazole, Metrolyl, Zidoval, Mepagyl, Nidagyl

I need a regular supply so price would be useful. I'm in Pattaya.

any pharmacy sells. cheap, too. try the one next to tim agogo, opposite lek hotel, best afternoons, when lady owner there, don't deal with husband. jl.jap.gif

Metronidazole (เมทาโทรนิดาโซล)

Metronidazole (Oral) (เมโทรนิดาโซลรูปแบบรับประทาน)

You've Googled much better than I did.

Many thanks to all for the info.

Also know as Flagyl and individual 400mg tablets can be purchased at Boots for 7 or 10 baht a piece.

Actually they usually use English script for medication names (as well as for many medical terms).

They may not recognize the words when a foreign says them but if you write it down they will. Metro is very well known, even to the untrained folk who man many of the pharmacy counters in LOS....

Of local brands, you usually can;t go wrong quality wise with GPO. So try metronidiazole-GPO. As you need a large supply, may be be able to save $ buying in bulk, try Fascino's.

Or Metrolex by Siampharmaceutical, the leading pharmaceutical company in Thailand.

I'd like to thank all respondents for their advice.

I've got the Thai script and will try Fascino's in Pattaya Tai and the other suggestions when I'm well (confined to the room at present).

As I need a box of 130+ tablets I think a generic is the way to go.

I'm still fretting about price though...............
